Describe how you would use the Online Project/Collaboration Site/Publishing Opportunity in
your classroom: I would be able to use this tool in my classroom during mathematic centers. I
could have a technology area where students can log on and use Dr. Math for any extra practice
or help they need working on their addition or subtraction factors.
What technologies would be required to implement this proposed learning activity in a
classroom? Desktop computer, laptop, or mobile device such as a phone or tablet. I would prefer
for no use of phones.
Describe how the following features are addressed in this learning experience (note: all of them
may not be addressed in the project, but most should be if you are reaching a high LoTi Level.):
a. Collaboration with peers, near-peers, mentors outside their classroom and often
beyond their school: They are getting to collaborate with actual math professionals
and get to see what other students had trouble with, asked questions about, etc.
b. Student-centered learning and knowledge creation (collecting original data and or
producing original products as a result of engaging in the project): By completing a
math project after practicing and getting answers to their own questions. Creating
their own questions for the forum.
c. Higher-order thinking: Creating questions to help increase their knowledge and
understanding about the topic.
d. Students publishing their original work to others who will use/care about their
product: Creating questions for the forum for other students to be able to
collaborate and learn from.

Remembering Understanding Applying Analyzing Evaluating Creating
What Level of Technology Implementation best describes this learning activity and Why? This
reaches higher levels of LoTi because they are communicating beyond the classroom and beyond
their classroom peers, they are creating products, and exploring and integrating technology into
the classroom.
How could you implement this proposed learning experience and still comply with your district’s
Internet Safety and Student Privacy policies? This is an educational website and it does a great
job of protecting student’s privacy. When students write into the forum, anything that is posted
does not say the name of the student.
