Camera work
Establishing shot – shows location
Long shot – filming people far away Mid shot Close up Extreme close up Panning – like panorama Tilt shot – up and down Tracking shot – camera moves or follows
Editing
Continuity editing – designed to make the action look continuous.
Match on action – film a hand, film a door handle then film someone opening door. Eyeline match – filming from person to another to appear as if they’re looking at it. Shot reverse shot – during conversation, each side is filmed separately and then edited together. 180 rule – do not make angle 180 unless panning audiences perspective is completely flipped. Cross cutting – when you film 2 events and edit them together e.g. police car driving and robbery (can be filmed ages apart, makes action easier to film).
