a. A census record is a record that helps the united states see how many people
are living in one area.

you?
a. I am researching my ancestor Sara Ann Cowling and her parents.
b. She is my 3x great grandparent on my dads side.

a. She was born on

a. She was born in Wales
5. When did this ancestor leave the home country?
a. There is no actual paperwork about when and where they left their home country.
6. Did your ancestor leave alone or with other family members?
a. Sara Ann Cowling left with her parents (INSERT NAMES)
7. What was happening in the home country at that time that might have been the reason
why your ancestor left?
a. I was researching events in the 1800’s that would make them move but I could
not find anything that would affect them.
8. How did your ancestor travel to America? From where did she leave? What was that trip
like? By boat, plane?
a. Sara and her parents left Wales from Ireland (hypothy) and they took a boat to
travel here. In that time I would think that the trip was long with more than a few
days on the seas that would have been rough.
9. Where did your ancestor end up in America? What port did she enter? What city did she
go to? Who sponsored him/her?
a. My ancestor ended up in Pennsylvania but there is no record found about which
port she entered and I did not find who sponsored her family to come over to
America.
10. Compare and contrast your ancestor’s life before and after immigration.
a. I feel like before immigration Sara and her family were not having that good of a
time due to income and so forth. I also think that they wanted to have a new and
better life than what they had in Wales. But after they moved to the United States
I feel like they had a better life because they were getting jobs, married, and
having kids and providing for each other more than they would have back in their
native country.
11. What is your immigrant ancestors legacy?
a. Her legacy is: Without her there would not be a ‘Miller Family’ to see and to love.
