This article is about how the forestry community needs to adapt to climate change in order to maintain

genetic diversity and resilience of the forest ecosystems. Climate change will have an incredible impact
on forests, giving the forestry community the task to evaluate all the available options in order to adapt
the forests or for society to adapt. Climate change will drastically affect ecosystems, so in turn we have
to adapt ecologically, socially and economically. In order to adapt we must first research how forests
have changed in the past to see how they might change in the future. The paper also goes into detail for
some adaptations in gene management, forest protection, forest regeneration, silvicultural
management, forest operations, non-timber resources and park and wilderness area management.
