I earned my Single Subject Credential in History/Social Science from CSU, Long Beach, so I am familiar with the program requirements and level of rigor. Lauren came to us with a good theoretical understanding of effective strategies for instruction She is inquisitive, reflective, and has a genuine heart for doing what is best for students. Lauren’s classroom management skills have vastly improved over time, She has employed a series of steps to get the class up and running so that litle instructional time is wasted. Though Lauren has only been teaching at our school since late January, she has already made an impact on our students. She participates in lunch-time activities and volunteers her time to open our classroom before and after schoo! for students who need a place to study. Lauren shows great poise when working with middle schoolers ‘who continue to keep her on her toes: ‘Though Lauren was keenly aware of the level of technology integration that we use in the history/social science department, I was a bit apprehensive at the thought that she would have to balance learning about classroom management, content delivery, and technology integration. However, I am most impressed with her tenacity and resilience when it comes to learning about how technology can be utilized to support differentiated learning opportunities for students. Technology integration does not come without its challenges and Lauren has met each of them head-on. She comes to you knowing how to design activities that promote engagement and student choice within a leaning management system. Lauren teaches in a 1:1 student-to-iPad classroom so she has experience with device management as well Lauren’s skills do not end with knowing how technology can be used to support student learning, She has diligently worked to provide seaffolds for our special education and English Language learners, It is not ‘uncommon to see her working with a small group of students who need extra support. Though Lauren has yet to finish her student teaching semester, her work-ethic and passion for teaching is quite evident. I have no doubt that she will continue to hone her skills as @ teacher and leamer. What Lauren may lack in experience at this time can easily be made up by her love for teaching and working with students.
