To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to recommend Lauren Le as a candidate for the Social Science Teacher position. I
have the pleasure of supervising Lauren during her student teaching career in the Garden Grove
Unified School District.

Lauren is a very effective teacher. Based off of my observations, it is evident that Lauren
thoroughly prepared for the lessons in both her 7th grade world history and 8th grade United
States History classes. She utilizes strong formative assessment practices and provides clear
feedback to all students to ensure that the entire class is on the same page. Lauren has developed
clear classroom procedures that foster an environment that promotes learning for all students.

To help promote an effective learning environment, Lauren uses technology as an intricate part
of the student learning experience. She uses all of the resources given to her by her master
teacher and school to enhance learning for her students. Her lessons utilize iPads and
PowerSchool Learning, an online learning management system. Lauren puts an emphasis on
reading, writing, and speaking in her classes. Scaffolds are also evident for differentiated
learners, but do not get in the way of student choice and self-regulation. Students practice the
skills of a historian as aligned with the Common Core State Standards.

Lauren thoroughly reflects upon how she can improve her teaching and responds well to
coaching feedback. There is a constant collaboration between her, her master teachers, and me. It
is evident that Lauren improves her teaching as I have seen growth with each subsequent visit.

Lauren has a wonderful rapport with her students. Her students participate and are willing to
work on their assignments. Her students are also engaged. Lauren displays a natural ability to
become an effective social science teacher for your district.

Sincerely,
