SouriWes T JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL Api 19, 2018 To Whom it May Concer: Russell Johnson was my spring semester teacher CTE intern at Southwest Junior High on Springdale, Arkansas. Russell has been responsible for teaching two sections of Engineering and Technology (ETE) 8-9 grade, one section of Introductory Catt Sklls (NCCER) ah, and thee sections of VEX Robotic 80th, Me. Johnson has planned and implemented the daly classwork, quizzes, and tests, Russell has successully demonstrated his awareness of diferent learing sijles and has adequately adjusted assignments to meet the varied needs of students. His lessons were thoroughly prepared and implemented. Russell was successful in monitoring and adjusting lessons and time frames, a the need arose, Russell madelad and taught students how to safety work in a wood working shop, to use basic hand tools, and to measure accurately in the U.S. Standard and Metric systems. He emphasized and helped stedents understand and implement the Design Process. Russell guided 9 grade students to completion of their studies in Introductory Craft Skil, which lead to national catfeaton trom the National Center for Construction Education and Research and OSHA-10 safety certification. In Robotics Russel taught two Computer Science languages, Robot C and Easy'C. Students were Instructed in robotic systems, building, and programming Russell mantore! ha Southwest ine High Vex Robots team, 798A, ishing in fist place atthe Arkansas State Championship. The {ear wil travel tothe VEX World Robots Championship in Apel Ruscoll as demonstrated a strong desire to leam and s very teachable. He has taken the iiative to enrol in a Nomhwest Arkansas Education Service Coop course in June in Computer Science. He -s familiar with Project ead the Way and following traning would do wel teaching thei curiclum Russell possesses a postive and enthusiastic personality, He has a great rapport withthe students he has worked with. He is well dressed, articulate, and alvays ready with a smile and a kind word, | have found Russel is a valuable team member and a song working member of ur team. He has had a postive working relationship with Southwest staff members Mr Johnson wil bean asset o any staf that he works with He is confident, knowledgeable, and has the skis ofa seasoned teacher.
