Praxis Core Exam Analysis

Exam Requirements
I have to pass the Praxis Core Exam before I can take any education courses at UNLV and
continue my Bachelor’s degree in Education. The passing scores for the Praxis Core in Nevada:
Math is 150, Reading is 156, and Writing is 162.

Exam Preparation
I took the Praxis core test the first time on Feb 15, 2018. I study out of a book called ​Praxis for
Dummies​. I study out of the book. I did practice tests out of the ​Praxis for Dummies​ book, and I
did awful on all three sections. I honestly felt hopeless, and dumb. The reading section of the
book was actually very hard compared to the actual Praxis reading which surprised me.

Exam Results
The first time I took the Praxis core test on February 15, 2018. I passed reading with 166, failed
writing with 138, and math with 148. I retook math on April 9th and passed it with 150. I am
retaking my writing on April 26th.

Future Exam Preparation

In preparation for my future exam, I have a tutor to work with and I bought practice tests from
the Praxis to practice with. I am planning on studying every weekend to help me pass the test.
