In this introductory presentation, Dr. Michael
Hattwick will tell the story of Mystery Schools,
ancient and modern. Beginning with clarification
of what the Lesser and Greater Mysteries are, Dr.
Hattwick will show how inevitable human concerns
lead to ways of learning about these Mysteries and
therefore to Mystery Schools. Next, attendees will
be reminded that a Complete Mystery School must
deal with four distinct, but inter-related Realities.
These Realities will be reviewed as taught in the
Western Tradition.
Dr. Hattwick will then reveal how these Mysteries
have been preserved and presented in the Bible,
Kabbalah, and Masonry. Finally, Modern Mystery
Schools will be discussed, including Masonic
Mystery Schools and the School of the Soul, which
will be presented as a separate workshop.
Michael A.W. Hattwick is a
practicing physician in Fairfax,
Virginia. He was educated at
Harvard, Baylor, Georgetown,
and the University of London. He
is board certified in both Internal
Medicine and Preventive Medicine.
Dr. Hattwick has been a student
of Warren Kenton’s and teacher
of Kabbalah within the Toledano
Tradition for more than 15 years. This tradition dates
back to medieval Spain where the three branches of the
Abrahamic revelation met and brought together an esoteric
fusion of religion and philosophy. Dr. Hattwick is Master
