US Government & Politics 1100

Professor Michael Broschinksy

May 5, 2018

Politics 1100 was a general class about the US Government, it emphasis on political behavior and social
conflicts. The professor in this class used a little humor to go over different scenarios that help explained
and understand the different political action taken by the government and the people. Each class
contain different required subjects listed by the American Institution such as U.S Constitution, politics
and political science, American federalism and central economic. American Institution is a requirement
that each professor must teach over the course of the semester.

The reason for choosing this image is when I look at all the diverse cultures of people that live in
America it reminds me of the saying “The land of the free” and how many diverse cultures traveled here
so they could be free.
When I first started Salt Lake Community College, I had very little remembrance of history,
government or politics taught from High School or maybe I just didn’t pay much attention as this was
immense importance to me at the time. Now that I have been taking these types of subjects it has really
made me think of how over time America has treated the immigrants that have been coming to this
country.

I think I started to really think about everything that was going on in the world and how it made
me feel about the way immigrants have been treated in America, was when I first took music class. The
professor went over several types of music that went back to the 1800’s and during each chapter there
was a different era taught that pertained the way the music was sang and words that were written for
each song and how they really had meaning to them.

Politics and Music course have a great similarity as they both go over history of America. It
defiantly has changed the way I look at history and how importance this is in my life to know. It helped
to understand the Constitution and the different amendments listed with understanding this it showed
that the government did tried to help change the unfairness of being a different race in America.
