Task Description: Paired presentation on Bruner (Scaffolding) 15% and Vygotsky (ZPD) 15%

Special Instructions: For this assignment you will submit:


Presentation – Examine and analyze some fundamental notions in
international models of learning and teaching, and link to the student’s
teaching practice observations and experience. Demonstrate an
understanding of scaffolding techniques in practice. In a critical analysis,
you will:
 Define Scaffolding and Zone of Proximal Development, including
information about who introduced the concepts and when
 Describe each concept. You should include information about:
1. How to discover the ZPD
2. Types of Scaffolding techniques
3. When to use ZPD and Scaffolding
4. The advantages and disadvantages of using ZPD and Scaffolding
5. The outcome if the ZPD and Scaffolding are not properly determined or
used.
 Describe how ZPD and Scaffolding can be used in the classroom with
the English subject.
 Provide an assessment for an English outcome and 3 differentiated
scaffolding assignments for high, ZPD, and low students.
 Closing remarks and views
A reference list including at least 5 references of sources cited throughout
your presentation.
