Praxis Score Analysis

Exam Requirements

In order for me to continue working toward my Bachelor’s degree in Education, I must

first pass the Praxis Exam before I can get into the Education Program at NSC. I need to pass

three sections: Math, Reading, and Writing. To pass the Math section I would need to score 150.

A passing Score for the Reading section is 156, and Writing is 162.

Exam Preparation

I was most worried about the Math section and I spent most of my time reviewing my old

notes and textbooks. I briefly reviewed some websites to help me prepare for the Reading and

Writing sections, but to be very honest I wasn’t too worried about that part so I did not spend

very much time preparing for these sections. Turns out, I should have spent more time preparing

for Reading and Writing because I had a harder time than I expected.

Exam Results

When I took the practice exam it turned out that I am very likely to pass the Math

section; I passed with a 91%. I scored 63% on the Reading and need improvement. I also need

improvement on the Writing, I scored 68%.

Future Exam Preparation

I definitely want to work with a tutor to improve in the Reading and Writing sections. I

also want to take another practice exam before I take the real exam to see the results I get after

working with a tutor. There is also a course offered at NSC to prepare for the Praxis as well. I

will use all these resources to prepare as much as possible before I take the exam.
