    SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY Baguio City To : PARENTS AND/OR GUARDIANS OF NEW STUDENTS FOR THE AY 2018-2019 Date: March 16. 2018 Re : NOTIFICATION ON RANDOM DRUG TESTING OF TERTIARY STUDENTS Dear Parents We would like to inform you that the Random Drug Testing (RDT) of tertiary studems shall be conducted pursuant to Section 36 of Article III of R.A. 9165 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”. Its purposes are to: determine the prevalence of drug users among the students: assess the effectiveness of school-based and community-based prevention programs; deter the use of illegal drugs: facilitate the rehabilitation of drug users and dependents; and strengthen the collaboration efforts of identified agencies against the use of illegal drugs and in the rehabilitation of drug users and dependents. ‘The Dangerous Drugs Board issued DDB Regulation No. 3 s. 2009 re: General Guidelines on Random Drug Testing for the guidance and compliance of all concemed. ‘The information sheet on how RDT will be done among the randomly selected students is found on the next page. The RTD can be scheduled at any time. It is important to mention that the cost of the drug testis borne by government; hence, no fee shall be charged from the student or parent.
