I have had the pleasure of working with this capable educator as an Instructional Assistant here at Stonegate Elementary for the past school year. Clare has worked to support our 4" grade classrooms as well as our Response to Instruction (RT!) reading groups. She has worked diligently with the classroom teachers in order to best support the instruction for all students, She implemented small group lessons that allowed an opportunity for all students to access the curriculum. With an understanding of the Common Core shift, Clare teaches the students specific tools that can be adapted and expanded on. She understands the importance of scaffolding and presenting information in different ways to meet the needs of the students she works with, Clare puts forth an ineredible amount of effort with a fine attitude. There have been times where her schedule needed to be changed in a moment's notice and she was always willing and able to support a need as it came up. Clare has also worked with our students as part of rezess and lunch supervision. With a school as large as Stonegate, alert and consistent management is vital to student safety. She maintains a firm but friendly demeanor and students respect her. In working closely with teachers on staff, Clare ensures that she is prompt and detailed in communicating her observations of students so the classroom teacher is informed. Clare has worked to build a positive rapport with staff, students, and families at Stonegate. When she is faced with something she is unfamiliar with, she asks good questions and makes a point to fully understand, I recommend Clare be considered for a teaching position.
