I met Clare in August 2017 when she accepted a position as an Instructional Assistant at Stonegate Elementary. Iwas impressed with how she immediately took the initiative to understand her role, learn individual teacher's expectations and collaborate with other staff members. She is a hard worker, takes direction and is adaptable. ‘This year Clare has worked closely in supporting teachers and students in grades 4, however I am confident she would provide effective instruction for students in all grade levels. She is compassionate, child-centered and eager to havea classroom of her own. She has been an active team member in implementing school-wide behavior supports and continuously finds ways to provide students a safe environment on the playground. She is, intuitive, open-minded and when faced with difficult situations, she is unflappable- an exceptional character trait that has been proven very resourceful in a school of almost 1,100 students. ‘We have used Clare as a substitute teacher several times in various grades and her experiences have given her new insights in understanding the rigor that is involved in creating a differentiated instructional program. One quality that stands out the most in working and observing Clare is her positive attitude.
