A Meetup group is a local community of people. Meetup groups are sustained through Meetup
events, which are face-to-face gatherings that happen in real life between members and
organizers.

You can find a Meetup group in your neighborhood on the Find page.

On this page, you'll be able to see the location, description, and topics of nearby Meetup groups.
You can also browse upcoming Meetup events within all the groups in your area

 5 tips to make your Meetup look great in the new design

1. Stand out with a new style. Your Meetup group’s cover photo sets the tone for your
Meetup. We recommend that you use a photo from a past Meetup.

2. Always have something up next. Your next Meetup is highlighted above your Meetup
group description. Grab your members’ attention by making sure there’s always a next
Meetup scheduled.

3. Get to the point. Focus on writing clear, concise descriptions for your Meetup.
Mobile-friendly descriptions will set expectations and encourage members to meet IRL
— no stylized formatting or videos needed.
4. Show it off. We’ve launched a new way to schedule that allows you to feature a
photo. Bring your Meetup to life by adding a variety of other photos to your pages.

5. Start the conversation. Stay connected with your community. Start discussions at the
bottom of your Meetup group. Try writing something like “What should we do next?” to
get some new ideas from your members.

Manage discussions for your group

- Meetup event scheduler: Organizers are guided through scheduling a Meetup, based
on what members care about most. Learn how to Schedule a Meetup. This is currently
only available in the new design preview.
- Featured photo: Organizers can choose a featured photo for each Meetup they
schedule.

- Cover photo: Organizers can upload a cover photo that best represents their group.

Participate in group Discussions

Discussions is a tool that makes it seamless for members and organizers to publicly
communicate with one another, from a Meetup group’s page.

Start a new discussion:

Desktop & Mobile Web

- Go to your Meetup group’s page

- Scroll down to the Discussions section

* Type your discussion in the Start a discussion… box

* To post your discussion, select the red arrow to the right of your text

Android & iOS

- Go to your Meetup group’s page

- Scroll down and tap Start a discussion

- Type your message and select Post

Delete a discussion:

Desktop & Mobile Web

- Select the three dots in the upper right corner of your post

- Select Delete from the drop-down menu

Android & iOS

- Scroll to the discussion you’d like to delete

- Select the *three dots* on the discussion and choose Delete

Commenting & Notifications

Comment on a discussion:

Desktop & Mobile Web

- Select Reply on the discussion you’d like to comment on

* In the Add a comment… box, type your comment

* To post your comment, select the red arrow to the right of your text
Android & iOS

- Go to the discussion you’d like to comment on

- Tap Reply then type your message and select Post

Following or commenting on a discussion will automatically subscribe you to push

and/or email notifications about that discussion, depending on your account settings.
You will also receive discussion updates in your account’s notifications center.

Following a Discussion

Follow a discussion:

Desktop & Mobile Web

* Go to the discussion you’d like to follow and click the three dots

* Choose Turn on updates from the dropdown menu

Android

- Find the discussion you’d like to follow

- Tap the three dots and select the Notifications box

iOS

- Find the discussion you’d like to follow

- Tap the three dots and select Turn on updates

Following or commenting on a discussion will automatically subscribe you to push

and/or email notifications about that discussion, depending on your account settings.
You will also receive discussion updates in your account’s notifications center.

Invite Members to a Discussion

Although it’s not possible to search for a member to add to your discussion, you can
select the member from a list.
It’s not possible at this time to invite a member to a discussion from our mobile apps.

Add a member to a discussion:

- Select the discussion you'd like to add a member to

- Choose the People tab below it

- Select the green + icon beside the member you’d like to add

That member will receive a push and/or email notification alerting them to the
discussion.

Unsubscribe or Unfollow a Discussion

Unfollowing a specific discussion will unsubscribe you from notifications about that
discussion. If you’d like to unsubscribe from being notified about any new discussions,
you’ll need to adjust your email and/or push notification settings.

Unfollow a discussion:

Desktop & Mobile Web

* Select the discussion you’d like to un-follow

* Click the three dots, then choose Turn off updates

Android

- Find the discussion you’d like to unfollow

- Tap the three dots and de-select the Notifications box

iOS

- Find the discussion you’d like to unfollow

- Tap the three dots and select Turn off updates

To unsubscribe from all Discussion email notifications:

- Go to your Email Updates page

- Select Edit next to the group whose settings you want to change

- Un-check the box beside Announcements for new conversations

To unsubscribe from all Discussion push notifications:

Android

- Tap on the Profile icon

- Tap on the three dot icon

- Select Manage notifications from the drop-down menu

- Tap on Push notifications

- Un-check the box beside Conversation invitations

iOS

- Tap on the Profile icon

- Tap on the gear icon

- Select Manage notifications from the drop-down menu

- Tap on Push notifications

- Toggle off Conversation invitations

- Pilih Balas pada diskusi yang ingin Anda komentari

* Untuk mengirim komentar Anda, pilih panah merah di sebelah kanan teks Anda

- Pergi ke diskusi yang ingin Anda komentari
- Ketuk Balas lalu ketikkan pesan Anda dan pilih Poskan

Mengikuti atau mengomentari sebuah diskusi akan secara otomatis berlangganan Anda
untuk mendorong dan / atau mengirimkan pemberitahuan melalui email mengenai
diskusi tersebut, tergantung pada pengaturan akun Anda. Anda juga akan menerima
pembaruan diskusi di pusat pemberitahuan akun Anda.

Mengundang Anggota untuk Diskusi
Meskipun tidak memungkinkan mencari anggota untuk ditambahkan ke diskusi Anda,

* Klik tiga titik, lalu pilih Matikan update

- Temukan diskusi yang ingin Anda lepaskan
- Ketuk tiga titik dan hapus-pilih kotak Notifikasi

iOS
- Temukan diskusi yang ingin Anda lepaskan
- Ketuk tiga titik dan pilih Nonaktifkan pembaruan

Untuk berhenti berlangganan dari semua pemberitahuan email Diskusi:

- Buka halaman Pembaruan Email Anda

- Pilih Edit di sebelah grup yang pengaturannya ingin Anda ubah
- Hapus centang di samping pengumuman untuk percakapan baru

Untuk berhenti berlangganan dari semua notifikasi diskusi push:

- Ketuk ikon Profile

Meetups must be community focused, local, and meet in real life. Meetup groups are
expected to create opportunities for members to participate in the Meetup and connect
with each other. Belonging to a Meetup community means sharing a purpose, goal,
interest, identity, or activity..

When writing your Meetup group description, be sure it includes the following
information:

- Who should join: Describe your ideal members

- Why should members join: Is it to learn more, challenge their skills or have fun?

- What members can expect: Describe typical activities

It's important that all Meetup group descriptions are clear and in line with our
Community GuidelinesMeetup harus fokus pada masyarakat, lokal, dan bertemu dalam
kehidupan nyata. Kelompok meetup diharapkan dapat menciptakan kesempatan bagi
anggota untuk berpartisipasi dalam Meetup dan terhubung satu sama lain. Milik
