Sometimes, not.always people tend to choose the wrong path in life, especially if they had a rough past like Juliet Ashton. In comparison to the characters Juliet \ Ashton and Markham Reynolds from The Guernscy Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society both | have the commonality of having a very close relationship with one another, but itis not the case { for both of them because Mark is madly in love with Julict, but she does not feel the same, Juliet Ashton is a protagonist of the members of the society and she is very trustworthy when it comes to the members sharing their deepest challenges, especially with everything that was going on at the time of World War II. As to with Mark, he is an American Publishers who is madly in love with Juliet, but is not happy, it may seem externally, but internally he is suffering in which is in relation to the novel, “Pursuing Happiness”, in the article, “The Alchemy of suffering”, by Matthieu Ricard. One of the characters, Mark, is in love with Juliet, but she doesn't feel the same way and to Mark, Juliet was his world and one of the main things that actually made him happy. Mark would not be defined.as happy due to the fact that he only only relies on materialistic things in order to have his pleasures desired and to have his way but always getting what he pleases, where Juliet Ashton who has had a rough past is identified as happy because of her positive mindset when challenges come her way. >
