I taught an English lesson about sound /r/ for my kindergarten 2 students.

My learning

outcome for the lesson were that students will be able to recognize, read and write sound

/r/. I loved how the students were totally engaged with me when I used the hand puppets.

To be honest, I did not prepare what I will say but when I started to talk I was giving

reactions for the students when they were trying to talk to Rashid (The hand puppet),

which made it more fun and interesting instead of preparing what I will say, and to stick

to the text. The students gave their fully attention to the toy and they were curious about

what he was whispering in my ears. My MST reflected on my engagement and she said

that she was curious too to know what he was whispering in my ears, which made me

feel proud about myself. In my opinion, I have achieved my teaching goals because the

students worked on the activities correctly and they were able to recognize and write

sound /r/. One aspect did not go well with me that I kept the students sitting on the carpet

for a long time, which took from the activities time. Because of this, the students couldn’t

rotate on the activities. When I will teach next time I will make sure to keep the circle

time no longer than 15 minutes.
