Reflections on Observation Task 2: Teaching a Phonics

Lesson

1. What program is used in your school to teach phonics?


The school have used “you tube” videos for different songs that includes phonics
and illustrate It on the television to show up for all the students.

2. How is phonics taught in your school?


They started to memorize the litters that they have taken before by singing and dancing, then
they illustrated some pictures, powrpoint or flashcards to introduce the new litter with
visualizing it.

3. What was the focus of the lesson?


The focus is on how to write the litter in different ways such as colourful sand, clays, glow
glitter, marker or using their fingers to write on the air. Moreover, make sure to repeat the
sound of the litter by showing them flashcards or playing music.

4. Were the learners engaged in the phonics lesson? If they were, select (a); if they were not,

a. Describe the different types of active engagement activities that


the teacher used.
The video song games hat they can answer while they are singing which is an interesting.
The craft activity that they can make their own rabbit hat in their own way.
Write the litter in ipads, sands, glow glitter or marker and that’s will progress their writing.
