To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to recommend Delia Hurtado, who has been a student in my AP English classes for
the past few years. During that time, I have come to know her as a strong student and a role
model for her peers. Ms. Hurtado is a rare type of student who combines exceptional natural
ability with a willingness and eagerness to learn. As a student, Delia always has her assignments
done on time and is always prepared for class. She is able to help her peers with difficult English
Language Arts concepts, but does so in a way that is both practical and non-condescending.
Although she is aware of her natural ability in the areas of academics, Nicole is constantly
challenging herself.

She has been part of the award-winning El Capitan High School Marching Band, Kwins, and
other clubs. Delia has a G.P.A. of 4.0. She aspires to become a Graphic artist/Animator. Delia’s
personal strengths are as impressive as her intellectual accomplishments. She's an active,
outgoing presence in class and abroad with a great sense of humor. Her cheerful nature and
openness to feedback means she's always learning and growing as a learner, an impressive
strength that will continue to serve her well in college and beyond. Miss Hurtado is just the kind
of culturally open, driven, engaging, and curious student that helped make our classroom a lively
environment and safe place to take intellectual risks. Please feel free to contact me if you have
any questions at 209-761-2977.

Sincerely,

Tina Spurlock, M.Ed.
