They didn`t say ‘no’ immediately, because it`s rude for them, in Japanese culture.

Victor is from Brazil and He lives in Boston, United States.

She is Victor`s friend`s wife.
3. How did Victor upset Sarah?
Victor said that he would love to come to their wedding, but in a voice tone that
meant he couldn`t come, then, as Sarah isn`t Brazilian, she didn`t understand it. She
thought he could come.
4. What has he learned from the experience?
He learned that it`s better to say a ‘no’ directly, no expressions, with the voice.
