Inmates Escape Correctional Facility

DANNEMORA, N.Y. (June 6, 2015) -- Two convicted murderers escaped from the
Clinton County Correctional Facility this morning.

Richard Matt, 48, and David Sweat, 34, were missing during 5:45 a.m. bed check.
Guards presumed they escaped with the help of an employee.

Matt is 6 feet tall and 210 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes. He has “Mexico
Forever” tattooed on his back, a heart on his chest and shoulder, and a Marine Corps
insignia on his right shoulder.

Sweat is 5 feet 11 inches tall and 165 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. He has
tattoos on his left bicep and right fingers.

Police consider both men dangerous and say they might be armed.

Authorities encourage reports of anything suspicious or a missing vehicle to 911 or New

York State Police at 518-563-3761.
