YELLOW FEVER VACCINATION

POINTS TO NOTE

A)Before vaccination

 Vaccine is ideally not administered in empty stomach

 Provide passport and previous certificate(if any)
 Wait for your turn- vaccination will begin only after six beneficiaries have
registered(according to Govt. of India guidelines)
 Mention any allergies to food items(especially to eggs,chicken), drugs or
any vaccines

B)After vaccination

 Wait for 30 minutes before leaving the hospital

 In case of fever, take Tablet Paracetamol : 15mg/kg- 8 hourly
 Report any other adverse reaction
 Seek medical help if symptoms persist/ worsen
 Ensure before leaving, that all your belongings including passport are in
your possession

C) Contraindications for vaccination

 Pregnancy
 Infants less than 6 months of age
 Symptomatic HIV-infected patients
 Allergy to egg, protein, gelatin food
 Prior organ transplant or radiation therapy
 Precautions are to be taken for- age groups of more than 60 years and
infants
