With a steady hand, senior Mackenzie Lurch works on a still life picture in her drawing class.

Lurch took many art classes throughout high school including sculpture, portfolio prep, and
painting. Lurch said, “I loved taking art throughout high school because it was always a period
for me to relax and have fun.”
While looking off a sketch, freshman Liliana Winans and Jade Kruyne complete their drawings
in drawing class. The students learned how to shade their drawing in previous weeks in class.
With steady hands, freshman Paula Loudermilk and Darya Rebeta complete their sketches in
drawing class. The students previously learned how to replicate a still life drawing and how to
properly shade the subjects in their pictures.
With a pencil in hand, sophomore Ethan Johnson carefully outlines the subject of his still life
drawing. Along with other students used a printed photo to replicate their sketches.
While shading carefully, senior Kaeden Kalinyak paints a still life image in his painting class.
Kalinyak along with his peers learned how to properly shade the subjects in his painting.
While shading her sketch, senior Jillian Diedrich replicates a printed picture in painting class.
Diedrich took painting because she enjoyed other art classes throughout high school from
freshman to senior year. Diedrich said, “ I thought painting would be really hard at first, but now I
really like the class.”
With a helpful hand, ceramics teacher Libby Harold helps senior Nicholas Streicher with his
turtle carving design in Ceramics 1. Streicher learned how to carve and add on clay to his
design in the weeks prior to starting his project. Streicher said, “Smoothing the clay is one of my
favorite parts of ceramics.”
While preparing to paint, freshman Darya Rebeta lays out the different colors to begin painting
her sketch. Rebeta along with her peers continued to paint different subjects in their image.
In deep concentration sophomore Carolyn Bencko paints her still life image. Bencko along with
other students learned how to blend different paint colors to get the perfect shade for their
subjects.
While working carefully, freshman Jade Kruyne progresses on her painting along with her peers.
Learned throughout the weeks prior how to properly mix paint colors and paint her subjects
based on the three-D items.
