    Variation: Marshall Gambit


    1. E4 d5 2. Exd5 Nf6

    Main idea for Black: sacrifice pawn for extra development, and attack quickly. The point of Nf6 is to
    possibly recapture the pawn with the Knight, so the Queen doesn’t get chased around.

    There are 3 main ways that White can respond: c4 (play c6), Bb5+ (play Bd7) or d4 (play Bg4).
