To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to write in to recommend Ms. Jade Rundquist for opportunities in the field of
ASL/English interpreting. I have worked with Ms. Rundquist as a student and then a teacher’s
assistant (TA) over the past three years. She has many characteristics that recommend her for
various opportunities.

Ms. Rundquist has effective communication skills that are crucial for being effective in a work
environment. As a student and a TA I saw that her emails were consistently professional. She is
also effective at follow up and communicating frequently, as needed. As my TA we both had busy
schedules and we worked together to make sure that all of the tasks we had were done effectively
and on time.

Here at St. Kate’s we teach women to lead and influence. I have seen Jade do just that. She
practices a quiet but consistent leadership by modeling hard-work and tenacity by making herself
available to peers and available for new and challenging opportunities that come her way. Her
work has been consistently high quality, organized and timely. These are comments heard from
her professors as well as internship hosts.

I have had the opportunity to watch Jade stretch her ASL and Interpreting skills and I have
confidence that she has the skills necessary to be a successful working interpreter. She has worked
hard to develop her skills so that she can work in a spectrum of modes of communication and
different styles of interpreting to meet the needs of her consumers. She also has specialty
knowledge in the area of healthcare interpreting, having taken a specialty class and working in
that niche for her internship.

Ms. Rundquist has skills and motivation that make her an effective communicator, leader, and
interpreter. These strengths will surely make her a good fit for opportunities that will be offered.

Sincerely,
