Paragraph 1: Location and weather of the city

Tourist and Cultural District of Cartagena de Indias abbreviated Cartagena de Indias, D.

T. and C., is the capital of the department of Bolívar, north of Colombia.he city has a
humid tropical climate and an average annual temperature of 29 ° C. Cartagena de
Indias has a relative humidity + 90%, with the rainy season typically between April-
May and October-November. It is noteworthy that although the weather tends to be hot
all year round, the presence of a breeze makes the climate pleasant. The months of
November to February are the windiest of the year. Although the months of September
and October are the most cloudy and rainy, the sun is often present every day. A breeze
can be felt in the months of January and February, which allows you to appreciate a stay
at the beach.

paragraph 2: Description of the city

Cartagena de Indias, officially the Tourist and Cultural District of Cartagena de Indias,
It is the capital of the department of Bolívar, Colombia. It was founded on June 1, 1533
by Pedro of Heredia. Cartagena has developed its urban zone, conserving the historic
center and becoming one of the most important ports in Colombia, the Caribbean and
the world as well as a famous tourist destination. Currently the total population of its
head is 971 700 inhabitants, being the fifth (5) most populated municipality in the
country.

Paragraph 3: Activities to do in the city

The historical center that encloses the walls of Cartagena is the soul of this city, which
served as inspiration to Gabriel García Márquez, winner of the Nobel Prize for
Literature in 1982. Here, besides feeling the history of centuries in cobblestone streets,
you can explore the Castle of San Felipe, be amazed by a tour of ancient churches and,
near, swim and float in a mud volcano.

it is pleasant to walk the streets and observe the colonial treasures, the Palace of the
Inquisition and the Clock Tower are an example of these, in addition to enjoying the
warm and calm breeze from its parks and squares.

Gastronomy is also a party in the city. Alternatives are multiplied for travelers seeking
to experience new and exotic flavors of local and international cuisine.

The accommodation options are diverse. It is possible to choose traditional colonial or

exclusive boutique hotels that provide a unique experience for their details and
personalized services.

Paragraph 4: Positive and negative aspects of the city

transport: Transcaribe is the copy of Bogotá's Transmilenio, and it's something very
positive for my city. When they started working, through the newspaper El Universal de
Cartagena they assured us that the section that goes from the wall, passing through the
Clock Tower arriving at the Venezuela Avenue would be delivered in 7 months. It's
been almost 2 years and they have not completely finished; I must admit that what has
been advanced so far is very cool.

Vendors: The beaches of Cartagena continue with the same problem, street vendors are
very badly organized and take advantage of tourists. For example the masseuse comes
to offer their services and they begin to massage the foot of the chosen client without
any authorization, all this saying that it is a free sample. That is totally
counterproductive. I am not saying at any time that they stop working but that they
should organize themselves and not harass tourists.

The center: The historic center is more beautiful than ever, its colonial houses keep
them preserved and very beautiful. The squares are the ideal place to chat and have a
nice time. The walls have never ceased to be one of the main attractions of this city. The
restoration of the church of Santo Domingo and the Cathedral has turned them into true
jewels worth visiting.
