To Whom It May Concern,
Tam writing on behalf of Xavier Roman regarding his candidacy for scholarship. I became
acquainted with Xavier when he enrolled in my Foundation Drawing class at Merced College
and have taken notice of his academic integrity and affable demeanor.
Mr. Roman exhibits keen determination to do well in his course studies. While attending high
school and maintaining a 3.5 GPA average, Xavier is also taking college courses. Among his
fellow classmates, he takes more than the average care in his assignments, and is always
punctual to class.
Xavier has definite scholarly goals; and it is clear to see his passion for the arts. Xavier is
thoughtful in his approach to new drawing techniques and takes criticism well. He is quick to
grasp new concepts and understands how to integrate suggestions into his own goals for his work.
Itis evident that Xavier puts in more than the average amount of time into his class work because
he care and wants to succeed. Xavier received an honorable mention in an art show for his work.
Working with Xavier for these past two months has been quite enjoyable. Although he is
confident and capable, he also possess humility, which I believe is a strength that fosters learning
and growth. Xavier also takes an active role is assisting others. He put in 100 hours of
community service with the Merced Sheriff Explorers Program. I am confident that Mr. Roman
will utilize and benefit from any assistance he is provided and will continue to make beneficial
contributions to the community.
Mr. Roman deserves your consideration for scholarship opportunities. If I can assist further in
discussing Xavier’s candidacy, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Very Sincerely,
Stephanie Disch
