To Whom It May Concern, December 19, 2017

I am writing you today regarding Alyssa Bell. I had the pleasure of teaching
Alyssa from 2014-2016 in my Spanish One and Spanish Two class.

As a student in our class, Alyssa excelled in all facets of the instruction, including
communication activities in the target language. Alyssa, a native English
speaker, was dedicated and committed to her Spanish studies and completed all
work in a timely and exceptional manner. She was quick, intelligent, and
participated positively in class. Alyssa earned A’s every grading period
throughout those two years, which, if I am to be honest, is not an easy task in my
class. I knew that I could always expect her work to be complete and mostly, if
not actually, correct the majority of the time and I knew that she would be willing
to partner with any student in the class at any time, especially with those who
were struggling. It was refreshing to know that I could lean on her to help out
during class. I appreciate and respect her for that. Alyssa continued as a
resource for me as well as my students when she chose to earn credits as my
Academic Tutor in the 2016-2017 school year.

Alyssa has an affinity for the Spanish language and holds her continued learning
of the language and culture in high esteem. She has traveled to both Spain and
Mexico and based on her willingness to work on her target-language speaking, I
am certain that she used both of those opportunities to practice her
communication skills.

Alyssa has excelled in all her classes, earning a 4.14 GPA and Honors status all
four years of her high school career. She has taken three AP courses in the last
two years.

Alyssa is not just an exceptional student, but also a wonderful and kind young
woman. She has been an integral member of the school’s softball team –
serving as their captain and has received awards from the league. She has
experienced some severe challenges this year in regards to her family, but has
pushed through them and become stronger. She also volunteers at the local
blood bank as well as at an animal hospital and has plans to go to veterinary
school and open up her own practice.

Alyssa was one of my most-revered students in my seventeen years as a

teacher. In my opinion, she would be a fine asset to any club, group, or team. I
would soundly recommend her in every way.

Sincerely,
Jouli Jara
