To Whom it may concern:

It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Angela Mathews. I have known Angela
since August 2015 as a student in my Chemistry class at El Capitan HS. Angela is an intelligent
and hard working student. She did well in my class, and seeks help when needed. Angela is
very thoughtful and trustworthy. She meets her commitments and is a good communicator.
Angela was always early to arrive to class, and would often come in during her lunch time to
assist me.

Angela works well with others. She eagerly assists other students that need help, and would
use class time to help them. Angela unselfishly boosted the achievement of the students around
her. She has a positive attitude and a smile that is contagious. She was very cooperative and
was open and honest in her communication with me and her peers. Overall, her conduct was
outstanding.

Angela is very involved with extracurricular activities: El Capitan Gaucho Marching Brigade
(drum major), Lancers 4-H Club (secretary, vice president, president), FFA, Merced Civic Ballet
Company, El Capitan Varsity Track and Field Team Captain, El Capitan Varsity Cheer.
She is a member of the following Scholastic groups: Western Athletic Conference Scholar
athlete, National Society for High School Scholars and California Scholastic Federation.

I recommend Angela for any University that she seeks. She will be an asset to the school, and
will quickly become a top performer. I am happy to speak with you about Angela’s capabilities if
