Main Learning Objective:
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to express
basic likes and dislikes by writing about their friend’s likes and
dislikes.
Complimentary Learning Objective:
By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to ask for
attention or help from a teacher or classmate using one word
or a fixed phrase by taking turn to ask what their friend’s likes
and dislikes.
Success Criteria:
1. List out names 2 out of 3 toys that they like and dislike.
2. Take turn to ask their friend’s favourite and unfavourite
toys.
3. Write about 3 of their friends’ favourite and unfavourite
toys.
Activities:
Starter
1. Teacher distributes sticky-notes and Combo Mat to each
group.
2. Teacher gets pupils to recall previous lesson on toys by
listing down the names of their favourite and unfavourite
toys on the sticky-notes provided.
3. Pupils paste the sticky-notes on the Mine Section of the
Combo-Mat.
4. Pupils discuss and circle one toy they all like and dislike
the most to be written in the Combine Section of the
Combo-Mat.

Main Activity
1. Teacher introduces sentence pattern as seen on page
23 in the Super Minds student’s book.
2. Pupils read aloud/practise sentence pattern with their
shoulder partner.
3. Teacher calls upon few partners to read dialogue in front
of their classmates.(Peer Assessment)
4. Teacher distributes writing worksheet for different
proficiency level (differentiation).
5. Pupils complete the worksheet based on the sentence
pattern introduced earlier on.

Plenary
1. Pupils once again read aloud sentence pattern.

Formative Assessment:
Teacher uses traffic lights to assess pupils’ understanding /
achievement.
