I have 3.7 years of experience working on Informatica, SQL Server/ Oracle.

Most of my experience is with Informatica Power Center working with Flat Files/ Oracle

I am pretty good in developing Informatica mappings and tuning sessions and mappings.

I have also written few Unix scripts to support informatica processes.

I have written good number of SQL queries to extract data out of Oracle/ SQL Server source databases.

Project Summary :

The objective of the project is to provide Sales Analysis and Purchase Analysis reports for Business
Decisions. Our team was responsible to build DataWarehouse and Case Management Data Mart.

(Team of 16 people)

We have used Congnos too to build reports. I was responsible to develop around 30 mappings as part of
DataWarehouse build. I had used SCD type 2 for most of the Dimensions I have developed and SCD type
1 logic for couple Fact tables.

I have done performace tuning of sessions/mappings.

I was rensponsible to fix bugs in Code

I have also developed unix scripts

Unix scripting Examples:

I developed Unix scripts to move files from one location to another and also to zip informatica session/
workflow logs.

Performace Tuning Examples:

1) One of the fact table load had performace issue to load about 200 million records. This was taking 2.5
hr. I have improved performace of the fact load by dropping indexes using presql of informatica and
rebuilding indexes after the data load. The load was complete in 45 min with this tuning.

2) We had scenario where flatfile load to table load is was taking longer. So I tuned buffer block size and
DTM buffer size settings. This improved performace rom 30 min to 15 min.
