BEB 30503/BEF35603 – DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING

SEMESTER II 2017/2018

GROUP PROJECT

INSTRUCTION:

In this project, you have to work in a group of minimum 4 and maximum 5 students and the duration of
this project is 8 weeks. Each of the group will be given a signal and required to analyze and process the
given signal as described below:

1. Analyze the given signal using Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) technique. Explain the result on
the magnitude and phase spectrum of the signal.
2. Design a Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter to remove the component of the given signal which
exceeded the amplitude of 50 (as observed from the amplitude spectrum). Analyze the filtered
signal using DFT technique. Please explain the result on magnitude and phase of the signal.
3. Design an Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filter to remove the component of the given signal with
the amplitude of 50 or less. Analyze the filtered signal using Fourier transform technique. Please
explain the result on magnitude and phase of the signal.
