Dear Parent or Guardian

This note is to inform you that your classroom teacher Mr. Low has accepted having a

student teacher in his classroom during the course of this school year. I will be in and out of the

classroom starting this week until the end of May.

I personally would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Dylan Taylor I am a fifth-

year education student attending VIU at the Cowichan Campus. I am entering my final practicum

as a student teacher. I would like to give a bit of insight about myself, first off, I’m a very

detailed driven individual who is very organized. I’m also a great communicator and hope that

your child can see that I will be effective in doing so. When I am not attending school or in the

classroom, am very involved with various local sport associations all across the valley. The areas

I focus mostly in are hockey and lacrosse. I really enjoy giving back to the community and also

being connected to the community via sports, giving back it really important to me. I hope your

children see that in my teaching practice. I have a few areas of interest and those subjects are

Math, Science, and Social Studies. In working with the new BC Curriculum my goal is to bring a

new perspective to these areas of interests stated before in your child’s learning while in the

classroom.
 In Closing I would like to thank Bench Elementary School, Mr. Low, you as

parents/guardians, and your children for welcoming me in the school and the classroom. I am

looking forward to getting know your child and learn along with them.
