CRISIS TEAM
Functions & Responsibilities
Provide Leadership:
Conduct vulnerability assessment and crisis team response plan survey
Help develop schoo! level safety and crisis response plans
Provide staff development regarding climate and safe school initiatives
Evaluate effectiveness of prevention initiatives
Use data driven decision making
Provide Support and Training:
Attend district trainings
Train school staff on prevention programs and initiatives (PBIS, RTI, NIMS,
PREPaRE)
Train new staff and update returning staff on prevention programs
Facilitate Sustainability of Ongoing Prevention & Preparedness:
Develop safety and crisis manuals, guides, updates, videos, and websites
Engage and collaborate with district safety/response team and community
partners
u Provide resources to the crisis team to develop and execute building crisis plans
For those who serve a specific ICS role on the team, participate in crisis planning
and practice
= Stay visible and open to hearing concerns regarding climate and safety
Evaluate:
Monitor implementation fidelity of all climate and safety efforts
Collect and analyze schoo! data pertaining to climate and safety initiatives
Physical safety audit
Psychological safety assessment
Hold staff accountable for prevention programs, crisis plans, and climate/safety
initiatives
