Part A

The images below show a series of events. Write sentences in past continuous or
past simple.

Example:

I – iron – a – shirt / I – burn – it

Answer: I was ironing (past progressive) a shirt

when I burned (past form of the verb) it.

He was painting the wall when the baby spilled

the can of paint.

Part B

Think about when you were 12 years old. Write three paragraphs about the things
that you used to do, you used to like or used to hate and explain why. You have
some ideas in the box.
 I used to be a rebel.
I used to be lazy.
I used to work hard.
I used to like all the teachers.
I used to play a lot of video
games.
I used to wear a uniform.
I used to hate vegetables.
I used to have longer hair.
I used to play football.
I used to wear glasses.
Example:

When I was twelve years old, I used to play with my friends (past habit). We
played seek and hide, soccer, baseball, yermis, etc. We used to play in a park near
my house. We played when we finished our homework (Description of the habit).

When I was 12 years old, I used to listen to music with my cousins.

I listened to alternative rock, alternative metal, reggae, heavy metal and Gothic
metal. My cousins and I used to listen to the music in my house. We were
listening to music after the classes.

I used to like spend time and listen to music with my cousins because they were
good persons with me and they liked my music genres. Also I used to like
because I was amusing myself and was speaking about many topics with them. It
was very good to be close to my cousins.

I used to hate the church because was very far. Also I used to hate very much the
long, repeated prayers and badly pronounced that the persons were saying in the
church and I used to hate in general the music that they were putting in the praise,
I was a very bad music.
