I have worked closely with Jasmine for the past three and a half school years as one of her AVID teachers at Buhach Colony High School. While working with Jasmine, I have found her to be diligent, determined, and goal-oriented. Jasmine is an extremely active young lady as is apparent in her membership in the following: California Scholastic Federation (CSF), Cheer, AVID Academic Club, Students for College Suecess, and student body leadership. She has served in several leadership roles in the few short years that I have known her such as AVID club secretary and is the current Senior class President! She also volunteers her free time to being a Peer Mentor and working with handicap youth on our campus; impressively logging in over 150 hours of community service! Miss Posadas is a six year AVID student and I have had the honor of working with her as one of her AVID teachers. I'can attest to her dedication to higher education as she takes AP classes and ‘20¢s above and beyond in everything that she is involved in. She is also fluently bilingual in both English and Spanish. With all that she is involved in, she is able to balance her responsibilities and maintains an impressive 3.9 GPA! I believe Jasmine has the determination and dedication that makes her an excellent candidate for any program that she chooses to participate in. She has her goal set on attending a four-year university and as a Pre-Med major and ultimately earning her bachelor’s degree and going into the medical profession. She is hard-working, responsible, and is deserving of any scholarship or award she is eligible for.
