Newtons first law “An object in motion will stay at motion unless acted upon by another

force.” This applies to my car because it would stay in motion if there was no force acting on it

but since gravity if pulling the car down towards the earth it causes friction and makes the car

slow down until it comes to a stop. The law of acceleration applies to my car because my car is

at rest until the mousetrap goes off and causes the car to accelerate. Then the car starts to slow

down and decelerate. Finally, the law of action and reaction was applied because car was acting

on the floor and the floor was acting on the car.

Energy was conserved because there was only one component of the car that was doing

most of the work other than multiple components. Before the trap launches the spring has

potential energy and when it is launched it has kinetic energy. The amount of mechanical energy

is the same so it has conservation of energy.

One of the simple machines I used was a wheel and axle. This helped my car move

because it made it move forward. The other simple machine I used was a lever and I used this

because it propelled my car forward. These machines helped my car move by making it become

mobile and making it actually move.

I learned that a solid body to the car is very important because I had to replace the first

one and reinforce the second one a lot. I was a little disappointed because I worked multiple

hours on this and I wasn’t that happy with the results. If I were to redo this project I would use a

stronger body and also make the stick connected the wheels longer so the wheels would stay on

better.
