Dear Employer,

I am applying for a cashier/clerk position on your service team at Food 4 Less after
hearing about this opportunity and seeing the sign you posted up on the sliding doors within this
past week. This position I am applying for interests me because of my enjoyment in the food
industry, stemming from my agricultural background and foods and nutrition class at Buhach
Colony High School.

Having an agricultural background and growing up in the valley of California I have been
involved in the process of how food was once nothing but just a seedling in a packet. My
experiences while growing up on a nearby family farm has definitely influenced me to become
interested in jobs and occupations in the health and culinary fields thus I took a foods and
nutrition class just last year focusing on food safety and handling. At the moment I am working
hands on with other students from school in the cafeteria to gain job experiences similar to a job
at a food joint and/or restaurant. Having a job at school has not only taught me to spend my time
wisely but also teaches me how efficient I can become as an individual. Since I’ve been hired for
the past 3 years at my school’s cafeteria I have also been involved in a plethora of other school
activities and clubs including FFA, Asian Club, Kindness Club, and MR WERC Community
Service Club.

Through these experiences I have proven to be reliable, optimistic, diligent, adaptable,

punctual, and hardworking. For these reasons I feel that I am an outstanding candidate for this
