It is recommended that the measurements are repeated according to the relevant section of the MAINTENANCE AND RECONDITIONING instructions. ‘+ The moisture content must be checked after maintenance which require opening of the gas compartment. Permissible moisture limits are tabulated below. For environmental protection the loss of SF6 gas to the atmosphere hhas to be minimized. ‘+ Measurements are performed at rated operating pressure using an industrial moisture meter (calibreated in water content ppm,) or a dewpoint meter (dewpoint indication in °C). All physical instruments are withdrawing small quantiiytis of gas. For environmental protection reasons the loss of SF6 gas into the atmosphere is to be kept as low as possible, Remarks: Since connector coupling and measurement tubing can contain moisture, individual measurements should be maintained until the indication of moisture resp. dewpoint remains constant. For measurements performed at pressures lower than the filling pressure, the correspondingly lower dewpoint can be read off the nomogram on page 4, The moisture content must be kept within the permissible values according to the table below. If the ambient temperature is the same as or lower than the measured or determined dewpoint, a false reading of the water content can result due to condensation. In this case, the measurement must be repeated at a higher temperature. Excess moisture content If the moisture content exceeds the permissible level, replace the adsorber cartridge(s) according to the instruction “PRESSURE RELIEF DEVICE AND ADSORBER’. ‘2002-08-30 (© AREVA 2008 47.020. 4126/2 3/4 Operating instructions Moisture content of SF6 insulation gas Type B6S and F35, AREVA 5 = 8 0 .
