Module Plans

As each new academic year commences, I prepare detailed module plans for my modules. This

gives a comprehensive breakdown, week by week, of the areas that will be covered. Each

module is different. Manufacturing Technology 1 has combined classes between the lecture

theatre and the workrooms which incorporate tool and equipment demonstrations, practical

work and wood finishing techniques and practice. At the first lecture of each year, I present the

module plans to the student group and explain the details of each section, including the precise

timing and nature of all continuous assessment elements.

The same procedure is conducted with Projects 1. Module plans are developed with Sean

Garvey and a detailed schedule of classes, projects and deliverables is prepared.

The module plans are uploaded onto the appropriate module section of learn-on-line so students

can access the plans with ease. Sample module plans are shown on the following pages.
