Interview Questions

1. Have you always wanted to become a teacher?

No, not always but I have definitely came to love being a teacher and watching
these students learn and grow.
2. What frustrates you the most in the classroom?
It’s very frustrating when one student acts up in the classroom and disrupts the
entire class. It’s very difficult to get them back to the right attitude for learning after a
disruption.
3. What are some techniques you use to get the class back in focus?
I use the Dojo point system. So the student either receives a point or loses one
depending on how they are acting. I can also say “Class Class” to which they will
respond “Yes Yes.”
4. How do you evaluate students?
There is usually worksheets that I assign after every lesson or activity. Group
discussions and teacher to student meeting is also a way I get to evaluate the students
individually.
5. How do you make learning fun for students?
I make the classroom a very interactive environment. They don’t just sit on
permanent seats, they rotate around the room so that they interact with different
classmates. We also do warm ups and walkabouts in activities.
6. What methods of teaching do you use?
A full day consists of lecture, technology, and teacher to student meeting. I use
rotations so that I’m able to meet up with the students to discuss their work.
7. What daily or weekly routines would be incorporated in your teaching?
I try to incorporate group discussions so that the students get to share ideas with
one another. This also allows me to observe and assess them.
8. What do you think of 2nd graders as a whole?
I personally think that the 2nd graders are a gem.
