Dear Respected Judges,

My name is Saeeda Shah and the topic of my senior project is student interaction, engagement,
and motivation and how it impacts the academic achievement and success of the students. I
chose this topic because it is related to my future career path, education.

Throughout the entire process of my project, and of gathering data through the prompt I have
given the students, I have learnt that there is a lot of interaction between students and teachers.
From this I learned that student interaction with the teacher leaves a significant impact on the
student. It promotes the academic success of the student, increases engagement, and provides
feelings of higher self-esteem. A student who I surveyed from a single gendered girls Islamic
Studies class, wrote, “We can ask (the teacher) anything because she understands.” Students
like to be understood by their teacher and are able to ask questions to learn more about their
subject and the outside world without having to worry about being judged by the other gender.
As a student myself, I agree with what this student has said and personally learn better when
the teacher is able to effectively engage with me. I have benefited a lot from this project and
enjoyed doing it.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to watch and judge my senior project. I appreciate it
