State Introduction

Hello my name is Areant and the state I have chosen is Louisiana
for my state report. Before I knew anything about Louisiana, I had only
heard it was home to a lot of Pelicans. Louisiana is located in the
Southeastern side of the U.S. The state that surround Louisiana are
Texas, Mississippi, and Alaska. The state nickname is The Pelican State.
The reason Louisiana this nickname is because a lot of Pelicans build
their nest in Louisiana.

The West Gulf Coastal Plain includes the area west of the Alluvial

Arkansas. The lowest point in the state is in New Orleans and is 8 feet
below sea level. This is a very dangerous place considering, it is the

California. The Mississippi River hills slightly roll to the north of Lake
Pontchartrain. The Mississippi Alluvial Plain is located along the
Mississippi River and is characterized by ridges and hollows. This area
includes the huge Mississippi Delta area covering about one-quarter of

CLOSING
I like my state Louisiana because of all the museums, galleries, and
the land marks. I would like to visit the colleges in Louisiana to see how
do they manage the colleges. In Louisiana there are many old building
with interesting back stories. Many of the buildings or gardens in
Louisiana were made by slaves in the past. Many slaves in the past
homes for their owners or made huge gardens they had to take care of.
