1. How does a cell phone/wireless signal work? A phone has a radio transmitter and a radio receiver.

cell phone converts your voice into an electrical signal and then transmits it through radio waves to a cell
tower. The cell towers send you wave to you friend’s phone which changes it to an electrical signal and
then into sound.

2. Would you use a wave or particle model for cell phone signals/wireless? Why? I would use a wave
model because the cell phone signals are turned into an electrical signal that is sent to the cell tower in
the form of a wave.

3. Why and how is information transmitted digitally? The data is converted into binary code (0 and 1)and
then reassembled back into the original form when it is received. It is used because it can be easily
manipulated so it provided a bigger range of options.
