Spring Concert Reflection

Band has always been a way for me to let go of my stress and relax. In band, we always play

pieces that are fun and innovative. For our spring concert, we played Anthem for Winds and Percussion,

Cajun Folk Songs (La Belle et le Capitane and Belle), The Machine Awakes, and The Star Wars Saga. The

most challenging piece for me was Cajun Folk Songs. Cajun Folk Songs had a lot a time changes, making

counting difficult. It also had a key signature where I only played a B flat, which makes playing hard

because I have to make sure all of my other notes are natural. To overcome this problem, I had to

practice. I practiced on my own, with the full band, and by using Smart Music. I learned that to achieve a

goal, you must work hard.
