Narrative Of The Life Of Frederick Douglass.

1. Frederick Douglass was born a mulatto. He did not know who his dad was but he had a
clue that it was his owner. The slave owner. He was treated with disrespect more than
the ones that weren't mixed because he was also part white. During his life, he had
experienced many things such as whipping and harsh things, that they did to his own
people. He was a smart person and quick at learning. Later in his life, he then started to
realize that it was time to think of an escape. Eventually he did get to escape.
2. The connections I can make this is that I don't really have any, but i know many people
were trying to get out not just him
3. The author’s purpose is to describe how slavery was like in the past and what had
happened to frederick douglass.
4. The audience is the people who are interested in slavery and how it was back then.
5. The most relevant details in his writing was showing a lot of descriptions. He described
how getting whipped was harsh and everything.
6. The most prevalent writing in this was pathos because it was a emotional story that
came from someone that has experience it.
7. The possible theme could be, don’t let people underestimate you.
8. This helped me understand the topic was because many white people did underestimate
frederick douglass about his curiosity and intelligence.
9. The element in may want to change is none.
10. Even though Frederick Douglass had people who were showing hate, he still taught
himself everything he could know. He did this because he wanted to learn to become a
good writer and speaker, and great thinker. In the story, he shows how he used a little
white kid for education, and how he kept teaching himself even if he was told not to.
Frederick Douglass did not care at all. There are some people that hear what people
says an it brings them down, but it did not bring him down. Frederick Douglass had
people who were showing him a lot of hate but he still did not give up on education!
