This month we conducted Measles Rubella Activity.

The target of this activity were

the children ages 6 months to 59 months. The objective is to supplement booster
dose of measles containing vaccine to this eligible children. We were assigned in
every zones/fixed sites of Galileo ilhz. We reached out & conducted home visits to
all households who had their children eligible for immunization.

Our main challenges of this activity was the fear of the community of the timely
issue of dengvaxia. We encountered lots of complaints and interrogations about this
issue. Yet we still tried our very best to ease their thoughts & advocate the
parents about this MR-SIA in a compassionate manner of explanations & understanding

GENTLY & calmy explain to the parents in a level of their understanding about this
immunization in a supplemental booster dose which is Measles containing vaccine
that has been given to their children at their usual routine immunization at their
certain BHS. Provide IEC materials that shows the characteristic symptoms of
measles to give them an idea & deeper understanding of measles.
Just don’t give up on explaining, and showing proof to them such as pictures from
previous immunized children that as far as this activity was done no untoward or
any serious adverse events has been reported.
