D2 background corrector lamp intensity too low..

The D2 background corrector lamp cannot match the intensity of the atomic source lamp (hollow
cathode or electrodeless discharge). This happens most commonly at wavelengths longer than 350
nm. Using a background corrector in this situation may lead to noisy or incorrect analysis.

Try the following:

» Reduce the current on the atomic source lamp and perform another automatic gain operation.
Click on the Set Midscale button in the Lamp Setup window or on the Automatic Gain Control
command in the Analysis menu.

» If the wavelength is longer than 350 nm, try performing the determinations without the
background corrector.
