Romfor West Africa Ltd. is committed to conducting business in


a manner which ensures that our drilling rigs are operated to high and consis-

tent standards, complying with all relevant laws and regulations. This Best

Practices Manual was prepared for the benefit of ROMFOR’s employees to assist

them in developing a more safe and efficient work environment for ourselves,

our customers and the communities in which we work. ROMFOR and its manage-

ment expects each employee to become familiar with the manual contents and

to use it as a planning tool for regular and pre-job safety meetings, as a training

manual for new and long term employees, and as a reference to make sure

drilling operations are conducted as safely and efficiently as possible.

ROMFOR WEST AFRICA LTD. makes no express or implied guaranties

of any kind including guaranties of productivity and safety for a particular pur-

pose with respect to any Recommended Practices and/or Guidelines contained

herein. The Recommended Practices and Guidelines are to be used where practi-

cable but they are not mandatory, especially where sound discretion dictates

deviation from a practice in the interest of safety. The Recommended Practices

and Guidelines are not intended to be comprehensive or exhaustive with respect

to the dangers that may be encountered in performing the various tasks outlined

herein. Employees should at all times exercise common sense and sound discre-

tion and should be alert to any dangers that may arise.
